The story about this painting results from a group of artist friends and I getting into a lengthy discussion about when it was finished. I sent the unfinished painting to one friend who said it ought to be finished at that point - something I had not considered at all! I then looked at it, and posted it for others to comment on regarding that fact. The consensus was half and half about the hands being finished, but that was resolved when I "couldn't help myself" and I painted in the hands. We all agree that the new hands did not harm the spontaneity and retained the immediacy of the blouse, background and hair. Phew! It is done now, really!
